Nayani Sarma, MPhil

Nayani Sarma is currently pursuing her PhD research in Educational Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, at New Delhi in India.

The focus of her PhD research is the evolution of university and higher education system from the early twentieth century India. She holds a MPhil degree in Educational studies and a Master degree in Economics. Her areas of research interest includes the subdisciplines of Economics of Education, Philosophy of Education, History of Education, Gender and Education, and Sociology of Education, as well as Philosophy of Science, History of Knowledge, Politics of Knowledge, Sociology of Knowledge, Transcultural History, Intellectual History and History of Ideas. In the long run, she wants to pursue a career in academic research and work for the development of the education sector of her country.
