
Mónica Martínez-Sariego, PhD
Mónica Martínez-Sariego is Associate Professor of Literature at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
She holds degrees in Spanish Philology (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), English Philology (University of Córdoba), and Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature (University of Granada), for which she received three First National Awards from the Ministry of Education of Spain. She was also granted with the Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. She has carried out teaching and research work at the University of Córdoba and University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and has completed long-term stays, both abroad (Paris IV-Sorbonne, Paris III-Sorbonne Nouvelle, Universität zu Köln, University of California) and in Spain (CSIC, University Pompeu Fabra, University of Barcelona).
She is the author of a hundred specialized publications. Her field of research is thematology, specifically the comparative study of themes, motifs and plots in various literatures and discursive media, with a focus on gender.
