Marlena Stradomska, PhD

Dr. Marlena Stradomska, holds a PhD in social sciences (psychology) and a PhD in humanities (philosophy). She completed her first PhD in 2022 – Evolution of the issue of suicide in Polish psychology in the years 1877-2017. She completed her second doctorate in philosophy in 2023 – Ethical aspects of communication in the event of death. For years, she has been cooperating with foundations, associations, educational and voluntary institutions, where she conducts workshops, lectures and specialist training.

Dr. Marlena Stradomska is an Expert of the Office for the Prevention of Suicidal Behavior at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw and an Expert of the support platform Życie Warte Jest Rozmowy (www.zwjr.pl). She also works at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin as an assistant professor at the Institute of Psychology of UMCS in the Department of Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology of UMCS. Since 2017, she has been the head of a sociotherapeutic facility – Nowa Kuźnia Society in Lublin, Tatary County.

Her works as a promotional activities specialist at the Maria Skłodowska-Curie University in Poland. She cooperated with the “UMCS Open Doors” organization together with journalists from Wirtualna Polska, Onet and other platforms promoting topics related to communication challenges of the 21st century. Since 2016, she has been the Vice-President of the Polish Society of Suicidology, Branch in Lublin, where, in addition to working with patients, she conducted a number of activities promoting PTS.Marlena is the author of over 100 articles and chapters in monographs and popular science works.
