Bita Banihashemi, PhD
Bita Banihashemi, Ph.D., holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from York University, Canada. She is a researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence, and her research interests include Neuro-symbolic AI and Knowledge Representation and Reasoning. She has worked on research projects that focus on Reasoning about Action, Change, and Causality, Abstraction of Agent Behavior and its Dynamic Domain, Agent Supervision and Behavior Customization, Planning, Argumentation, the SemanticWeb, and Large Language Models.
Furthermore, she is passionate about teaching Computer Science, and her teaching interests include Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Semantic Web Technologies, and Graph Databases.
She often participates in initiatives that advance opportunities for women in technology and advocate for gender equality in STEM fields. She is also interested in initiating projects that focus on AI for Social Good, especially those related to sustainable development goals such as Quality Education and Good Health and Well-Being put forward by the United Nations.
