Alexander Karatzas
Alexander Karatzas is currently studying in Amsterdam, finishing his Liberal Arts bachelor at the Amsterdam University College (AUC). During his studies at this interdisciplinary honours programme, he largely focussed on the pre-law track and international relations. In 2022, he participated in the Amsterdam Law Trials, an inter-university moot court competition. In the beginning of his third year at AUC, Alex completed an exchange semester at Boston College, which greatly benefitted his personal and academic development. As he is set to graduate this semester, he will continue his studies into national and international law at the University of Amsterdam (UvA).
Prior to Amsterdam, he attended the European School of Brussels III, where he obtained the European Baccalaureate. During these formative years, Alexander traveled to the United Nations Headquarters in New York for the UNIS-UN International Student Conference in 2019 and also travelled to the Charles III University of Madrid to take part in the Spanish Youth Model United Nations conference. Alexander is also one of GIRES’ Communication and Media Officers.
