Richa Chandola is a researcher on migration and diaspora with focus on transnationalism and global networks.
She is currently a PhD candidate at the Center for Canadian, US, and Latin American Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She holds the UGC Senior Research Fellowship in Political Science.
Her doctoral work analyzes socio-political mobility within transnational communities using the case study of Japan-Brazil migration. She has successfully defended her dissertation titled “Transnational factors behind Migrant Identity: the case of Nipo-Brasileiros” during her MPhil research at JNU (2014-16). Her areas of specialization include International Relations, Diaspora studies, Transnationalism, and Migration. She has presented and published various papers on related issues.
